J. Scott Zimmerman, Chief Executive Officer and President

Mr. Zimmerman is President of Storm Cat Energy. He is an innovative and highly accomplished engineer in the North American coalbed natural gas industry. Mr. Zimmerman joined Evergreen Resources, a premier leader in the development of coalbed natural gas, as Vice-President of Operations & Engineering in January 2002. Prior to this, as J.M. Huber’s Vice-President-Energy Sector, Mr. Zimmerman spent 20 years specializing in CBNG exploration and development in the Rocky Mountain region, with emphasis on the San Juan and Powder River Basins. Prior to J.M. Huber, Mr. Zimmerman was the Senior Production & Reservoir Engineer with Amoco Production Company. Mr. Zimmerman received a BS in Petroleum Engineer from Texas Tech University in 1979 and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

 

Keith J. Knapstad, Vice President of U.S. Operations

Mr. Keith J. Knapstad has joined Storm Cat Energy as Vice-President, Operations (USA). Mr. Knapstad has a strong managerial and operational background, most recently as Manager Powder River Basin Assets for J. M. Huber Corporation; a privately held corporation with extensive unconventional resource holdings. Prior to Huber, Keith worked for Marathon Oil Company/Pennaco Energy in the Rocky Mountain region managing a multi-disciplined team responsible for engineering and development of various Rocky Mountain producing areas. Mr. Knapstad is an ambitious professional with proven abilities in executive leadership, project management, reserve evaluation/ reporting, and operational expertise. Mr. Knapstad received a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech in 1984.

 

Don Martin, Vice President of Canadian and International Operations

Don Martin has joined Storm Cat Energy Corporation as Vice President, Canada and International Operations. He has over 25 years exploration and development experience in the western Canadian sedimentary basin, and has achieved greater than a 75% success ratio on over 350 prospects drilled to date. Prior to joining Storm Cat, Don was with Nytis Exploration Company as Vice President Exploitation, a private Canadian based exploration and production company. Prior to Nytis, Mr. Martin held the position of Vice President Exploration with Evergreen Resources Canada Ltd where his duties included coordinating exploration as well as operations and engineering departments. A professional geologist by trade, Don is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta, and the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists

Paul Wiesner, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Wiesner is the Chief Financial Officer for Storm Cat Energy. He has over 20 years experience, 13 of which have been in the oil and gas industry for upstream and mid stream companies with financial responsibilities ranging from Analyst to Vice President of Finance. Most recently, Mr. Wiesner was CFO for NRT Colorado Inc., a $125,000,000 a year revenue corporation with over 150 employees and 20 locations. Mr. Wiesner holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a BA from Claremont McKenna College.

Michael O’Byrne

Michael O’Byrne is Vice President of Land and principle of Golden Eagle Energy Ltd and President and principle of OMJ Land Services Ltd. Mr. O'Byrne has a breadth of land experience across Canada and the U.S, skilled in deal negotiations, land acquisition, production optimization, corporate asset evaluation and due diligence.

 

 

 

 

Robert Penner

Mr. Robert Penner, CA, recently retired senior tax partner with KPMG, joins Storm Cat Energy with more than 35 years of public practice. During his career, Mr. Penner specialized in advising clients on Canadian and international tax matters, with particular emphases on the taxation and financing of oil and gas and other natural resource projects.

 

 

 

 

Mike Wozniak

Mr. Wozniak has been a partner in the Environmental, Natural Resources and Energy Group of the international law firm of Dorsey & Whitney LLP, where he also served as Partner-in-Charge of the Denver office. Mr. Wozniak is currently founding partner of Beatty & Wozniak LLC, a natural resources law firm located in Denver, Colorado. He received his B.A. degree with distinction from Indiana University in 1976 (Phi Beta Kappa) and his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1980. Mr. Wozniak has an active merger, divestiture and acquisition practice, representing buyers and sellers of oil and gas producing properties, midstream assets, gas processing plants and natural gas and oil pipelines throughout the United States. He represents oil and gas clients in regulatory and environmental compliance matters, Public Lands appeals, and natural resources litigation in both state and federal courts. He is licensed to practice law in the states of Colorado and Wyoming, is a member of the Colorado, Wyoming, Southern Ute Tribe and Federal Energy Bar Associations and is a frequent lecturer on natural resources matters. Mr. Wozniak is active in community and governmental affairs and serves on the boards of numerous charitable organizations and currently serves as a city council member in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado.

 

Robert J. Clark

A 38-year veteran of the oil and gas industry, Mr. Clark is President of Bear Cub Energy, LLC, a privately held gas gathering and processing company, which he founded in 2001. In 1995, Mr. Clark formed a predecessor company, Bear Paw Energy LLC, which was sold in early 2001 to Northern Borders Partners. From 1988 to 1995, he was President of SOCO Gas Systems, Inc. and Vice President – Gas Management for Snyder Oil Company, a NYSE-listed exploration and production company. SOCO was merged with Santa Fe Energy forming Santa Fe Snyder in 1995. Mr. Clark was Vice President Gas Gathering, Processing and Marketing of Ladd Petroleum Corporation, an affiliate of General Electric from 1985 to 1988. Prior to 1985, Mr. Clark held various management positions with NICOR, Inc. and its affiliate NICOR Exploration, Northern Illinois Gas and Reliance Pipeline Company. Mr. Clark received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Bradley University and his M.B.A. from Northern Illinois University. Mr. Clark currently serves as a member of the Board of Managers for Bear Cub Energy, LLC and Fluid Compressor Partners and serves on the Board of Directors of IPAMS, the Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States. He most recently served on the Board of Directors for Evergreen Resources, Inc. which was sold in late 2004 and Patina Oil and Gas Corporation which was sold in early 2005.
